Meade Family

We live in Southwestern Virginia.  Elijah, age 19, has PMD with SPG2.  He was diagnosed when he was 13 y.o.  His symptoms had been mild until the past couple of years.  Eli learned to drive and still enjoys time behind the wheel of his favorite truck on his best days.  Li, age 7 1/2, was adopted into our family when he was 4 years old.  He has the classic form of PMD with a duplication.   We have often been asked why we would adopt a second child with this disorder.  I consider it an honor to have been given the opportunity to be a part of Li’s life.  This was what God told us to do and we cannot say ‘no’ to God.  Eli has been enjoying his role as the ‘big brother’ and is very good at his job; they argue as though they were born brothers!
